Is The Global Economy Beginning To Recover?: Left of Center View

The global economic crisis has one cause; greed. Greed caused the problems the world is facing now and unless we honestly confront that fact there will never be a full economic recovery for the vast majority of the people around the world. Lining the pockets of the wealthy has been the priority of leaders from around the world for centuries and now we suffer through the fallout. The crisis is only really a crisis for those who are not wealthy so the politicians and the wealthy give it lip service only while doing nothing to actually right the wrongs that caused the problems in the first place.

What you will hear on the news is that governments are taking “bold steps” to confront the issue but that is a lie. The “bold steps” they are taking is to take more money from the poor and give it to the rich. Our taxes are what will subsidize the lifestyles of the rich and famous as they pass more “recovery” measures to prop up the businesses that have been gutted by their greedy executives through contractual agreements that pay regardless of performance. It is a sick and twisted game of keep-away with the money and resources people need to survive.

While we all know violence is not the answer it is hard to not want to eviscerate these monsters who steal from people’s retirement accounts to pay for their luxury. These wheelers and dealers take so much that they leave people who have spent a lifetime working for the betterment of our nation eating cat food for dinner while the fat cats eat only the finest cuts of meat and drink only the most expensive wines. It is not hard to understand why the people of France beheaded their leaders during the French Revolution. There comes a point at which you simply can’t stomach any more of the callous disregard for the people for no greater reason than to live to excess.

The working people of the world deserve better. We have spent our lives doing the labor that makes the wealthy rich and they’ve repaid us by taking so much that we now no longer have enough for the people doing the work to live on. The money has not disappeared; it has gone to the wealthy at the expense of the working class. Their greed has caused more pain than can be expressed with mere words. People are dying and becoming homeless to pay for the excess of the wealthy elite. If our leaders cannot act to protect us we must protect ourselves. We need to find a way to level the playing field and make money less of an advantage. The people need to come together and learn to work outside the established system. Some might call it communism but for many it may ultimately be their only means of survival.

Is The Global Economy Beginning To Recover?: Right of Center View

The free market is under fire. Left wing Washington politicians Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and their cronies are determined to finish what they started and destroy the economic foundation of our nation. The so-called reform that Congress is debating is nothing short of the destruction of capitalism. Instead of strengthening the economy these new laws will force business to go overseas to make a profit. Liberals talk about the global economy because they don’t want to talk about what is happening to the American economy at the hands of the Democrat controlled government.

The truth is that the global economy is in no better shape than the American economy because Congress and the White House are making decisions that are making things worse. As goes the American economy so goes the world. We are the driving force behind much of the world’s economy. When Congress passes laws that damage business it hurts not only America but the world. The poorly conceived bailouts that are not working in America are now being replicated in Europe which will damage their long term economic health just as they are here. Billions and possibly trillions of tax dollars spent and still unemployment rises. In Europe it will be no better. A bad idea is a bad idea no matter where it is implemented.

To be fair, some businesses have done things that should never be allowed but the way to handle that is not to cripple business overall by over-regulating the businesses that had nothing to do with the collapse. Washington has a bad habit of throwing out the baby with the bathwater and it needs to stop. Making it impossible for businesses to be innovative is not the way to promote economic health for America or the world. The laws passed by Congress need to use some common sense. If a law will cause businesses to stop hiring or pack up and leave, they are not good for the economic health of the nation.

The global economy will only recover when business is allowed to function and flourish. Jobs are created when business is profitable. Over-taxing and over-regulating business will only slow the growth of the economy. This is a universal truth of business. American and European leaders need to go back to basics and work with business to improve the economic situation in America and around the world. Laws need to balance accountability with the promotion of economic growth. The global economy will only improve when our leaders accept that choking business is not the way to overcome the bad decisions of a few individuals. Prosecute people that break the law and fix laws that allow people to cheat others but if you want to have long term economic health you need to let business stand or fall on its own and have the freedom to continue to find innovative ways to keep business growing.

A Legal Immigrant’s Perspective

If you are not a Native American, you are an immigrant, so am I. I came legally to this country at the age of five with my parents who worked hard, paid taxes (even Jesus paid taxes), lived by the rules of this great nation and never took or accepted a penny from the government. We came seeking FREEDOM from a communist country. It was months before we were able to enter the US legally. I remember us getting medical exams, shots (small pox), background check, references, and going through numerous interviews once we arrived. I also remembered people coming to the US from all over the world who waited years since it was based on "Quotas". Read more...

Solving Our Immigration Problem

The major problem our country is facing with illegal immigrants today is because of the exploitation of these immigrants. We believe the solution to this problem is two-fold. First, we should allow more immigrants in this country to cut down on the number of illegal ones. Second, all immigrants should be educated about their rights at the expense of the government. Below, you will find an in-depth look at our suggested reforms.

Reforms for immigration limitations:

-New immigrants can't equal more than 1% of the US population in a given year (the population being from the last recorded census). That 1% will be further divided up to allow only a certain number of immigrants each month.
-Each country of origin for immigrants will be allowed a certain percentage of that 1%. No country could receive more than 10% of the total amount and no country can receive less than .1% of it. The left over percentage will be divided up between all countries as follows: Read more...

Do Elements Within the La Raza Movement Pose a Threat to America?

La Raza means literally “The Race” in Spanish. The movement was formed in 1968 to promote the interests of the Mexican-American community. Like the NAACP and other affirmative-action minded organizations, La Raza has many members that are interested in being part of America and promoting equality for all Americans. The fundamental goals as stated by the movement are benign and represent the ideals of American diversity and cultural pride.

There is another movement affiliated with La Raza that has historically been more militant and still maintains documents within their organization that point to isolationistic views Read More

A Plan

The one major thing that seems to be lacking in the immigration debate is a real plan that addresses the legitimate concerns with illegal immigration. There are strong opinions on both sides and a lot of rhetoric but there isn’t really any solid plan being promoted to address the illegal immigration issue in a way that is both fair and logical.

So, that being said here is my idea:Read More

Trucking Cross Borders

This is mainly a concern for the trucking business. If we allow these people to come into our country, bringing cargo that we in America have, and can supply, then we are saying that the American working people are not needed, and have lost all say to legally enforced DOT (Department of Transportation) laws.Read More
