Mexican Drug Cartels Setting Up Shop In America's National Parks: Left of Center View

Our nationís parks and natural preserves are perhaps also our greatest treasure. But, more than that, they are also a part of our national identity and psyche. They are all that is left of the new world that millions flocked to, far more precious than the minerals and resources they house. Unlike most everything else in our modern world they can not be replicated and disappear forever once they are paved over.

Unfortunately these places harbor plenty of practical short term riches as well. There has always been a problem with individuals using the land for their own personal gain. From poachers to strip miners, irresponsible ranchers to toxic was disposal, there are a lot of ways to make illicit money off of public lands.

Apparently the Mexican drug cartels are now using our national forests as farmland. It's a lot easier to smuggle seeds and grow it here. There is little cost to public farming vs. the potential rewards, and the risk of getting caught it a lot lower too. Unfortunately the damage is increased. Since illegal farming has to take place in unpopulated areas, much of the mess isn't even discovered until it's far too late to simply clean it up. Chemicals, left unused in containers over time seep out of their confines and into the flora and fauna, contaminating as they flow.

The bottom line here is that it really shouldn't matter who is doing it. The Mexican drug cartels make for a good story and headline, but there was a story here long before they wandered out of the hills leaving their trash behind. Heck, this was the same problem we were having with the bootlegger's in the 1920ís. The point is no matter who it is doing it, it needs to stop.

Mexican Drug Cartels Setting Up Shop In America's National Parks: Right of Center View

This is yet another example of why we need better border security. The once pristine wilderness of the American national parks is becoming nothing more than disposable cropland for the people selling drugs to our children. Every time you hear about the DEA or Forestry Service finding another crop there is news that the growers have polluted the water and damaged the trees to grow their poison. This is a disgusting situation and it needs to be stopped now.

The Obama administration in its attempts to win over the left has opened the door to even more of this type of activity by not allowing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) people to aggressively go after illegal immigrants. This lack of enforcement has allowed the contact networks for these criminal enterprises to grow and flourish in our cities and towns. The people growing drugs in the mountains couldnít survive without a network in the cities to move the product.

There is no doubt that the open-borders philosophy of the left wing liberals in charge of Washington is making the situation worse. They have allowed an invasion to take place without taking any real steps to stop it. Theyíve even told the people charged with securing our borders to basically leave people alone that might be here illegally unless they get caught doing something else illegal. By the time we catch them doing the other illegal things itís too late!

We need to secure our borders and clear the drug cartels out of our national parks. These criminals should be treated as enemies of the nation and foreign invaders. They threaten the health and well being of our nation and need to be stopped no matter the cost. They need to be taken out like the trash they are.

A Legal Immigrantís Perspective

If you are not a Native American, you are an immigrant, so am I. I came legally to this country at the age of five with my parents who worked hard, paid taxes (even Jesus paid taxes), lived by the rules of this great nation and never took or accepted a penny from the government. We came seeking FREEDOM from a communist country. It was months before we were able to enter the US legally. I remember us getting medical exams, shots (small pox), background check, references, and going through numerous interviews once we arrived. I also remembered people coming to the US from all over the world who waited years since it was based on "Quotas". Read more...

Solving Our Immigration Problem

The major problem our country is facing with illegal immigrants today is because of the exploitation of these immigrants. We believe the solution to this problem is two-fold. First, we should allow more immigrants in this country to cut down on the number of illegal ones. Second, all immigrants should be educated about their rights at the expense of the government. Below, you will find an in-depth look at our suggested reforms.

Reforms for immigration limitations:

-New immigrants can't equal more than 1% of the US population in a given year (the population being from the last recorded census). That 1% will be further divided up to allow only a certain number of immigrants each month.
-Each country of origin for immigrants will be allowed a certain percentage of that 1%. No country could receive more than 10% of the total amount and no country can receive less than .1% of it. The left over percentage will be divided up between all countries as follows: Read more...

Do Elements Within the La Raza Movement Pose a Threat to America?

La Raza means literally ďThe RaceĒ in Spanish. The movement was formed in 1968 to promote the interests of the Mexican-American community. Like the NAACP and other affirmative-action minded organizations, La Raza has many members that are interested in being part of America and promoting equality for all Americans. The fundamental goals as stated by the movement are benign and represent the ideals of American diversity and cultural pride.

There is another movement affiliated with La Raza that has historically been more militant and still maintains documents within their organization that point to isolationistic views Read More

A Plan

The one major thing that seems to be lacking in the immigration debate is a real plan that addresses the legitimate concerns with illegal immigration. There are strong opinions on both sides and a lot of rhetoric but there isnít really any solid plan being promoted to address the illegal immigration issue in a way that is both fair and logical.

So, that being said here is my idea:Read More

Trucking Cross Borders

This is mainly a concern for the trucking business. If we allow these people to come into our country, bringing cargo that we in America have, and can supply, then we are saying that the American working people are not needed, and have lost all say to legally enforced DOT (Department of Transportation) laws.Read More
